Ambassador Enna Park attended an online seminar under “Two Countries Divided: Unpacking the Legacy of German and Korean Unification Policies” hosted by the German Center for Transnational Relations at King's College on the evening of October 8 as a panel to explain our peace policy on the Korean Peninsula.

Professors Pacheco Pardo and Katrin Schreiter of King's College attended the conference, and Ambassador Enna Park, Professor Kristina Spohr of the Department of World History at London School of Economics, and Professor Heon-ik Kwon of the Department of Social Anthropology at Cambridge University held presentations and discussions.

In particular, regarding the reason why the UK should be involved in the reunification of Korea and how to contribute, Ambassador Park said that the issue of the Korean peninsula is not only a matter of Korea, but a matter of international peace and stability, and that the Northeast Asian region is a place where a complex geopolitical structure is working. Therefore, since the instability on the Korean peninsula may become a cause that may cause instability in the world, as a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, the United Kingdom must maintain interest and support for denuclearization and peace on the Korean peninsula. She explained that the presence of a leading media company and think tanks in the UK are also factors that can contribute to address the issue of the Korean Peninsula.
