1. Eligibility to apply for a Overseas Korean Visa (F-4)
You are eligible to apply for this visa if you are
① A person who was Korean and has acquired foreign nationality.
② A person whose parent or grandparent had a Korean Nationality and has acquired a foreign nationality.
※ If Korean male(included dual citizen) gave up Korean nationality without performing Korean military duty, he will not be able to obtain Overseas Korean(F-4) visa until the year when he becomes 41 old.
- If Korean male loses Korean nationality before May 1st, 2018, he may be able to obtain F-4 visa.
2. Required Documents
• A person who was Korean and has acquired foreign nationality (F-4-11)

② Physical Passport (more than 6 months valid) & Copy (personal information section with photo)
*For Non-Norwegian or Non-Icelandic passport holders are required to submit a residence certificate (Bostedsattest) or a copy of residence card (Non-EU citizens) to apply for a visa through us.
③ Identification Certificate or Family Relation Certificate issued by the Korean Authorities (You may apply at the Embassy)
- If your Korean name and foreign name are different, △Same Person Verification Certificate issued by an adoption agency or △Confirmation of name change issued by Skatteetaten is required.
※ Only those who have completed Loss of Nationality can apply for a Overseas Korean (F-4) Visa. For information about loss of nationality, click here.
④ Documents demonstrating the reason for and an exact date of obtaining foreign citizenship (Ex. Citizenship Certificate)
⑤ (This applies if the applicant's age is between 18-59) Criminal Record Certificate that was issued within 6 months from the application date
- If you have lived in another country for more than 1 year within 5 years from visa submitting date, you must submit the country's criminal record certificate with notarization.
⑥ Fee : 900 NOK (Multiple-entry visa)

④ Documents proving family relationship (Ex. Birth Certificate)
⑤ (This applies if the applicant's age is between 18-59) Criminal Record Certificate that was issued within 6 months from the application date
- If you have lived in another country for more than 1 year within 5 years from visa submitting date, you must submit the country's criminal record certificate with notarization.
⑥ Documents proving Korean proficiency (one of the following documents): △Korea Immigration&integration program scorecard (21 points or more) or program confirmation (level 1 or higher), △Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) level 1 or higher, △King Sejong Institute Beginner 1B course or higher completion certificate
- Exemption of Korean proficiency: △Those who had Korean nationality in the past, △Those under the age of 13 and over the age of 60, △Those who have stayed in Korea for more than 3 years with an overseas Korean (F-4) visa, etc.
- If you do not submit documents proving Korean proficiency, the visa can be applied for a multiple-entry visa valid for 1 year.

3. Please Note
❍ Please be informed that it takes about 10 working days to issue a visa after submitting all physical documents to the Embassy. Reservation is required before visiting the Embassy.
❍ If you are not a Norwegian or Icelandic citizen, additional documents can be required.
❍ Overseas Korean Visa (F-4) can be applied for a multiple-entry visa valid for 5 years. Periods of stay for this visa will be granted initially for up to 2 years.
- Foreigners intending to stay in Korea for more than 90 days after entry have to get an Alien Registration Card (ARC) from the Korea Immigration office, and multiple-entry will be allowed with the ARC and re-entry permit.
