Q1. Can I submit visa documents by post or email?

A1. No, visa documents cannot be submitted by post or email. Visa documents should be submitted in person, and it can be submitted by another person or a visa ageny on the applicant's behalf.



Q2. Can I collect my passport and granted visa by mail/post?

A2. Yes, your passport and granted visa can be collected by registered mailRegular mail returns are not accepted due to loss issue. 

If you are going to collect by mail, please submit a return envelope with your address written on it and postage when you apply. The Embassy is not responsible for lost mail.



Q3. Is expedited visa issuance service available?

A3. No, there is no emergency visa issuance or expedited service available, and visas will be rejected if there is a solicitation, coercion or urge. It takes about 10 working days to issue a visa after submitting all physical documents to the Embassy.



Q4. Do I need to make a reservation to pick up my visa or passport?

A4. Reservation is required before visiting the Embassy for any matter.



Q5. Should I leave my passport at the Embassy?

A5. Your passport will be kept at the Embassy while your visa is being processed.



Q6. How do I pay the visa fee?

A6. Visa fee can be paid by card at the Embassy. Cash or bank transfer, including Vipps, is not accepted.



Q7. How do I read and understand my visa?

A7. As soon as you receive your visa, check to make sure all your personal information printed on the visa is correct. If any of the information on your visa does not match the information in your passport or is otherwise incorrect, please contact the Embassy immediately.

On the visa there is 'Validity period of visa' that will be usually 3 months from visa issuance date. It means you can enter to Republic of Korea until validity period of visa. After entry to Republic of Korea, you can stay within 'Period of Stay' described on the visa from actual entry date.



Q8. Can the visa validity period be extended?

A8. No, the validity period of visa cannot be extended. If your visa has expired, please apply for a new visa.



Q9. My passport information has changed. How do I change my visa information?

A9. You can change your visa information through the Visa Portal site. Go to Visa Portal site(www.visa.go.kr) [Application-Change of Passport Information], fill out the form, and contact the Embassy via e-mail.



Q10. I have a Confirmation of Visa Issuance. How do I apply for a visa?

A10. If you have a Confirmation of Visa Issuance issued by the Korea immigration office, visit the Embassy with only your visa application form and your passport.
