Digital Nomad (Workcation) Visa (F-1-D)

1. Eligibility to apply for a Digital Nomad (Workcation) Visa (F-1-D)


You are eligible to apply for this visa if you are

Overseas business owners or foreigners affiliated with international companies who can work remotely and have worked in the same industry for at least one year, and their accompanying family members (spouse and minor children).


※ It is based on the work experience in the same ‘industry’ for more than 1 year, and work experience at the same ‘company’ is not a requirement.


Age: 18 years of (full) age or older (Except for dependent children)



2. Required Documents


① Visa Application Form (Fill out online, printed, and signed)

② Physical Passport (more than 6 months valid) & Copy (personal information section with photo)

For Non-Norwegian or Non-Icelandic passport holders are required to submit a residence certificate (Utskrift av registrerte opplysninger, Bostedsattest, etc) or a copy of residence card (Non-EU citizens) to apply for a visa through us.


 Documents proving income such as certificate of employment, certificate of salary and bank transaction certificate (재직증명서, 소득증빙서류)

Proof of at least 1 year of experience in the same industry is required.

Income requirements*: Those with more than twice the GNI per capita of the previous year (KRW 88.10 million, 7.34 million per month) as announced by the Bank of Korea

*The income standard is based on ‘pre-tax’ income, and the exchange rate is calculated based on the date of visa application.


 Criminal record certificate (범죄경력증명서)

The validity of a criminal record certificate is 6 months from the date of issuance. If the remote worker overseas submits his or her criminal record certificate, accompanying family members do not need to submit a criminal record certificate.

If you have lived in a third country for more than 1 year within the last five years as of the date of application, you need to submit a criminal record certificate from the third country with Apostille.


⑤ Certificate of medical insurance (개인 의료보험 가입 증명서)

It is mandatory to subscribe to individual medical insurance with coverage of at least KRW 100 million for medical treatment and repatriation to home country during stay. (If accompanied by dependents) Accompanying family members also need to subscribe to medical insurance to cover any emergency situation while staying in Korea.

3. Please Note


❍ This visa can only be applied for until 31 December 2025, and all physical documents should be submitted to the Embassy by this date.


❍ Please be informed that it takes about 10 working days to issue a visa after submitting all physical documents to the Embassy. Reservation is required before visiting the Embassy.


❍ F-1-D visa can be applied for a multiple-entry visa valid for 1 year. Periods of stay will be granted for 1 year. (Extendable for one additional year, maximum 2 years)

- For stay more than 91 days in the Republic of Korea, you need to apply for foreigner registration with the immigration (branch) office having jurisdiction over the place of your residence within 90 days from the date of entry into the country.
