Job Seeker Visa (D-10-1)

1. Qualification


A person who plans to engage in a training or find a job in a field qualified for a visa of Professor(E-1), Foreign Language Instructor(E-2), Research(E-3), Technical Instructor/Technician(E-4), Professional(E-5), Artist/Athlete(E-6), and Foreign National of Special Ability(E-7) can apply for the job seeker visa (D-10-1).


※ The D-10-1 visa allows you to engage in internships in professional fields, including those in the E-1 to E-7 categories.

The activities related to Artist/Athlete(E-6) status only includes pure art or sports, and excludes adult entertainment businesses.



2. Eligibility criteria for application


You are eligible to apply for this visa if you are

 A previous employee of a listed company on the Fortune's Global 500 companies for more than 1 year in recent 3 years

 A graduate of a university listed on the Times' Higher World University Rankings in recent 3 years

 A graduate of a Korean community college or higher in recent 3 years

 A person having a bachelor’s degree or above, completed a research program at a Korean research institution in recent 3 years.



3. Required documents

② Physical passport (more than 6 months valid) & copy (personal information section with photo)

- For Non-Norwegian or Non-Icelandic passport holders are required to submit a residence certificate (utskrift av registrerte opplysninger, bostedsattest, etc) or a copy of residence card (Non-EU citizens) to apply for a visa through us.

4.  Point system for the D-10 visa


In order to obtain the D-10 visa, you should score at least 60 points, including 20 points or more for the basic requirements, according to the Korean visa point system.

※ Points can be deducted if you have violated immigration laws or have a criminal record.



5. Exemptions from the point system


Some applicants can be exempt from the point system;

Those who graduated from a Korean university within the last 3 years and have a TOPIK Level 4 or KIIP Level 4 certificate are exempt from the points system.

‧Those who hold an E-1 to E-7 visa and whose employment contract has expired can be exempt.



6. Please note


❍ Please be informed that it takes about 10 working days to issue a visa after submitting all physical documents to the Embassy. Reservation is required before visiting the Embassy.


❍ The job seeker visa (D-10-1) visa can be applied for a single-entry visa valid for 3 months. Periods of stay for this visa will be granted initially for up to 6 months. (extendable up to 2 years)

- For stay more than 91 days in the Republic of Korea, you need to apply for foreigner registration with the immigration (branch) office having jurisdiction over the place of your residence within 90 days from the date of entry into the country and receive your ARC (Alien Registration Card)The initial visa issued is typically single-entry only, and you can obtain multiple-entry status once you have your ARC.
