Wednesday, 1 August, Consul General Baekwan Hong attended K-Wind Soul Beat, a Korean
cultural performance organised by the Korean Consulate and Korea Foundation. This
one-time-only Auckland performance showcased vibrant and colourful traditional
Korean music and dance infused with energetic hip-hop and contemporary
movements. 900 people filled the concert hall and enjoyed high-quality
performance by Noreum Machi, Gorilla Crew
and Mira Dance Company travelling all
the way from Korea with support of the Korea Foundation.
31 July, Gorilla Crew who performed at K-Wind Soul Beat held a B-boy Workshop
at Auckland University Dance studio with the support of the Korean Consulate
and Korea foundation. Around 20 local B-boys and B-girls attended the workshop
and learned various movements of street dance from Gorilla Crew, one of the
world’s top B-boy dance groups.
