Notice Transit Passengers Visa Free Policy

If you satisfy any of the following conditions, you may stay in Korea for up to 30 days without a visa.


Eligible Countries

Nationals of countries that need a visa to enter South Korea, EXCEPT FOR the 24 excluded countries (Syria, Sudan, Iran, Macedonia, Cuba, Kosovo, Palestine, Afghanistan, Iraq, Nigeria, Ghana, Yemen, Gambia, Senegal, Bangladesh, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Somalia, Uzbekistan, Nepal, Cameroon, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Egypt) that are not granted visa free entry into Korea.


Period of stay: 30 days


Applicable to

1. A person who has a LABELLED visa to enter the New Zealand, Australia, Canada, U.S. (Guam and Saipan).

   Who transit through Korea to go to one of the four advanced countries, OR 

   - Who stay in one of the four countries and depart from the country to Korea to go to a country of origin or a third country.

   ※  For e-visa holdersvisa must be attached to traveller's passport and who is travelling from the US, Canada, New Zealand through South Korea are allowed to enter Korea without a visa.

   ※  An Australian e-visa holders are exempted from providing a labelled visa in the passport.


2. A person who has an entry visa for one of 30 European countries.

- Who wishes to travel to 30 European countries through South Korea OR

- Who departs from one of 30 European countries, and travel one’s home country or the third country through South Korea.

3. A person who has a departure ticket to the countries above within 30 days from South Korea, for who has not been an illegal alien and non endorsable offences.

4. In the past 3 years, A person who had not been denied entry into Korea within the past 3 years preceding the date of entry.

5. A person who had not been fined of more than 5 million KRW or not have been forcibly evicted or received a deportation order for violation of law.

6. A person who stayed in transit country or stopover country within 3 days.

※ Japanese individual visa holders are excluded as of 1 May, 2016


Requirements

- Must have a confirmed onward flight ticket for departure within 30 days after entering Korea

No record of criminal offence in the five countries mentioned above.


Acceptable cases

① New Zealand → Korea → Home country

② New Zealand → Korea → Third country

③ Home country → Korea → New Zealand

④ Third country → Korea → New Zealand

⑤ New Zealand → Korea → Third country → Home country

⑥ New Zealand → Third country → Korea → Home country

⑦ Home country → Korea → Third country → New Zealand

⑧ Home country → Third country → Korea → New Zealand


Unacceptable cases

① Home country → Korea → Home country → New Zealand

② New Zealand → Korea → New Zealand → Home country

③ Europe → Third country (stay more than 3 days) → Korea → Third country


※ This does NOT guarantee your entry. Each passenger's eligibility for entry will be determined by the Korean Immigration upon arrival. Additional actions may be necessary based on individual passenger records.
