Embassy History

  • New Diplomatic relations between New Zealand and Korea were established in March 1962 and a resident Embassy opened in Wellington in July 1971.

Embassy Jurisdiction

  • The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Wellington represents Korea vis-a-vis New Zealand, Cook Islands, Niue, Samoa, and Tonga. In addition to the Consulate in Auckland, Honorary Consulates are located in Christchurch, Samoa, and Tonga.
