Papua New Guinea will celebrate its 50th Independence Anniversary with a three-day public holiday from September 15 to 17, 2025. The Golden Jubilee will feature events in the capital and across the nation, including a state dinner, the traditional flag-raising and lowering ceremonies, a public concert, and military displays. The celebrations are intended as a time for national reflection, unity, and thanksgiving for the nation's 50 years of independence.
