The Opening of an Office for the Solomon Islands’ Tina River
Hydropower Development Project
The opening ceremony for an office dedicated to the Solomon Islands’ Tina River Hydropower Development Project was held on June 05, 2019 at 11:00 AM. Among those who participated in the ceremony were Korea Water Resource Corporation (K-Water) President Hak-su Lee, Solomon Islands Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare, and other key figures in the Pacific Islands country.
The Tina River Hydropower Development Project, driven by the Solomon Islands government, is to build a hydropower plant with a capacity of 15 MW. K-Water was chosen as the main commercial development partner of the project in December 2018. The construction task is expected to be completed in 2024.
