2024 Global Korea Scholarship for Graduate Degrees


Global Korea Scholarship is designed to provide international students with opportunities to study at higher educational institutions in Korea for academic degrees, which will enhance international education exchange and deepen mutual friendship between Korea and participating countries.


1. Total Number of Scholarship Available

ㅇ Nation quotas for Sweden: 2 (1 placement is reserved for overseas Korean)


2. Duration of Scholarship

ㅇ Doctoral degree program: 4 years (1 year of Korean language program and 3 years of regular degree program)

ㅇMaster's degree program: 3 years (1 year of Korean language program and 2 years of regular degree program)

ㅇ Research program: 6 months/1 year


3. Application Timeline

ㅇ6 March (Wed.): Deadline for submission

ㅇ 12 March(Tue.): Interview invites to the selected candidates by email

     **Interview date and details will be communicated personally by email

ㅇ22 March (Fri.): Announcement of the successful candidates

     **Results will be communicated personally by email


4. Submission of Applications

  ㅇDeadline of Submission: 6 March (Wednesday), 2024

  ㅇPlace of Submission (Postal address)

    ※ It must be written <2024 GKS Graduate Application> on the envelope.


5. Important requirements for the submission

ㅇ Please refer to the attached application guidelines for the required documents for relevant applicants to submit

ㅇ “Documents to complete” need to be filled in English or Korean with applicant’s original handwritten signature, but no need to be apostilled or consular confirmed

ㅇ All “Required certificates” must be apostilled or consular confirmed, and documents written in Swedish must be submitted together with a certified translation in English or Korean.

ㅇ The total 4 sets of application documents (1 set of original application documents and 3 sets of photocopies, identical to the original set) should be placed in separate envelopes. The original set must be marked as "Original" on its envelope

ㅇ One letter of recommendation must be prepared and submitted signed and sealed by your supervisor, dean or professional in the field of your desired study


6. Notice

ㅇIf the applicant fails to send in ALL THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS for the application, the applicant will automatically not pass the first round of selection. (Please check the attached "Application Guidelines" thoroughly before sending the applications.)

ㅇSubmitted documents will not be returned to the applicants under any curcumstances

ㅇIf a university requires additional documents, applicants must submit those materials directly to the univerisyt.
