Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago

The National Institute of International Education and Development (NIIED), an institution affiliated with the Ministry of Education, operates the Global Korea Scholarship program to foster outstanding talents abroad and promote friendship between countries. In this regard, it is our pleasure to announce that the 2024 Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) for foreign graduate scholars has started.  Please refer to the attached application guidelines and submit your application by mail by February 29, 2024 (Thursday) 18:00.

ㅇ Eligibility

• ■ Applicants must be under 40 years of age (born after September 1, 1984) with Trinidad and Tobago/Barbados/St. Lucia/St. Vincent and the Grenadines/Grenada citizenship

• ■The Applicant's parent (or legal guardian) must hold a foreign nationality; applicants or their parents are not eligible to apply if they are a multi-national with Korean citizenship.
  

• ■Applicants must have obtained or be scheduled to obtain a degree as of July 31, 2024
  

• ■Comprehensive Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.64 or higher on a 4-point scale for all grades in their previous program
  

• ■Must be physically and mentally healthy enough to study in Korea for a long period of time

The email should include '[GKS 2024]Name' in the subject line, and the content of your mail should include 1. Your name, 2. Expected date for your application to arrive at the embassy, 3. Contact information, 4. Age, and 5. An electronic copy of your application as an attachment as PDF files.

• ■Application Reception: Until February 29, 2024 (Thursday)
  

• ■1st Interview: In March (※Interview date will be notified via email)
  

• ■Announcement of the first round of successful applicants: Mid-March 2024
  

• ■Second round announcement: May 2024 (announced on the Korea Education System, www.studyinkorea.go.kr)
  

• ■Announcement of finalists: June 2024 (announced on the Korea Education System, www.studyinkorea.go.kr
