Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago

On September 29 (Monday), Ambassador Seijoong Kwon hosted a luncheon for the MIKTA Heads of Mission based in Port of Spain. As the 2025 Chair of MIKTA, Ambassador Kwon presented key agenda items such as peacebuilding, youth empowerment, and the advancement of the SDGs, while leading broad discussions on ways to promote multilateralism.

The Ambassadors of Mexico, Türkiye, and Australia in attendance agreed that MIKTA itself embodies the importance of multilateralism, and expressed their commitment to actively support and provide guidance for the initiatives spearheaded by Ambassador Kwon.

Our Embassy will continue to take the lead in developing and advancing joint agendas on multilateralism, including within the MIKTA framework in the Caribbean, as part of Korea’s efforts to explore and strengthen Korea–Caribbean cooperation as a responsible global partner.
