Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago

On Thursday, October 2, Ambassador Seijoong Kwon met with Senator the Honourable Dr. Kennedy Swaratsingh, Minister of Planning, Economic Affairs and Development, to exchange views on areas of mutual interest including urban development, investment promotion and economic diversification, and environmental cooperation.

Minister Swaratsingh introduced the government’s urban regeneration plan for Port of Spain and expressed hope that more Korean brands would establish a presence in Trinidad and Tobago in the future. He also conveyed interest in learning from Korea’s experience in the environmental sector.

In response, Ambassador Kwon shared Korea’s experiences in economic and urban development, noting that Korean companies possess strong competitiveness and extensive global experience. He added that he hopes to see expanded cooperation between Korea and Trinidad and Tobago in diverse areas such as artificial intelligence, technical education, and finance.
