On Tuesday, October 14, Ambassador Seijoong Kwon hosted a meeting at his official residence with Mrs. Beverly Ramsey-Moore, President of PanTrinbago, Mr. Peter Corbie, Representative of the NPC Initiative and Ms. Jamie Bagoo, Cultural Strategist of Barrack Yard Productions, to discuss cultural exchanges and possible collaborations between Korea’s Samulnori and Trinidad and Tobago’s Steelpan.
Pan Trinbago Inc. (The National Association for Steelbands of Trinidad and Tobago) is the national association of steelpan players and bands that organizes major festivals and competitions — including Panorama, the world’s largest steelpan competition — and supports the development and training of steelpan musicians.
In celebration of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Trinidad and Tobago, the Embassy is committed to fostering people-to-people cultural diplomacy by creating opportunities for collaborative performances between artists of both nations and deepening mutual understanding through cultural exchange.
