Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago

On Tuesday 14th October, Ambassador Seijoong Kwon met with Mr. Necephor Mghendi, Head of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Trinidad and Tobago Office, to hear about the office’s main functions and current activities.

Mr. Mghendi explained that he oversees thirteen English- and Dutch-speaking Caribbean countries, supporting the institutional capacity building of national Red Cross societies and implementing programs for both disaster response and long-term community resilience.

He also emphasized that Korea’s climate change and blue economy initiatives in the Caribbean could be linked with IFRC activities. Both sides agreed to explore possibilities for future cooperation.
