The Overseas Koreans Cooperation Center plans to implement the “Overseas Korean Youth Employment Support Program” to select talented overseas Korean youth and provide support linking vocational training with settlement assistance in Korea. We look forward to the interest and participation of overseas Korean youth who wish to seek employment and settle in Korea.
1. Program Overview
●Purpose: To contribute to securing future national growth drivers by providing vocational training and settlement support for talented overseas Korean youth.
●Eligibility: Overseas Korean youth aged 19 to 39 (as of August 24, 2026, the program start date) who wish to seek employment and settle in Korea.
●Program Period and Capacity
○Program Period(Tentative): August 24, 2026 – June 18, 2027 (approximately 10 months)
○Program Capacity(Tentative): 50 participants
○※ The program period and number of participants may change depending on operational circumstances and training fields.
●Training Fields: Applicants may choose one of the following fields:
○Korean Cuisine
○Baking & Pastry
■※ Applicants may select: 1st preference (required) / 2nd preference (optional)
■※ Participants will be assigned to their first preference whenever possible.
■※ Some fields may be canceled if there are insufficient applicants.
■※ Training fields cannot be changed after the orientation ceremony.
○Common Curriculum
■Korean language classes by proficiency level
■Employment preparation training (resume writing, etc.)
●Training Venue: Korea Hotel & Tourism Occupation Training College(located in Ansan, Gyeonggi-do)

●Eligibility Requirements
○Age: Overseas Korean youth aged 19 to 39 (as of August 24, 2026, the program commencement date)
○Overseas Koreans who will be eligible for employment in Korea upon completion of the vocational training program
■※ Applicants are not eligible to apply if military service obligations in the Republic of Korea or their country of residence impose legal restrictions on their entry into Korea, stay in Korea, visa issuance, or employment activities.
○Applicants must be in good physical and mental health and capable of participating in the program and residing in Korea for an extended period (a minimum of two years, including the training period) without difficulty.
○Applicants who are eligible to obtain a visa that permits participation in vocational training, job seeking, and employment activities in Korea (e.g., F-4, D-2, D-4 visas)
●Application Categories
○Overseas Koreans holding foreign nationality who have graduated from high school (or an equivalent level of education) or are expected to graduate from high school.
○Individuals who hold Korean nationality or permanent residency in their country of residence and have completed, or are expected to complete, the entire elementary, middle, and high school curriculum (or an equivalent level of education) in their country of residence.
●Preference may be given to applicants who:
○Are descendants of independence patriots or national merit recipients
○Possess relevant work experience or qualifications related to the selected training field
○Demonstrate strong Korean language proficiency
○Face financial hardship or other socio-economic disadvantages

○※ The application form must be completed in Korean or English. The self-introduction essay (motivation for applying, relevant experience and strengths, and plans after completion of the training program) may be written in another language; however, a Korean translation produced using any translation program must be submitted together with the original text.

○Additional Documents (Overseas Korean with Foreign Nationality - U.S. citizen)
■Original and translated copies of final academic graduation certificates - Proof of Korean heritage(Birth certificate, Family relation certificate, Copy of Domestic Residence Report Certificate, etc.)
■※ All documents issued overseas must be submitted with a notarized translation and an Apostille certification. Where submission of the original document is not possible, a notarized true-copy certification of the original document must be provided.

3. Support Provided and Important Notes
●Support Provided
○Transportation Support
■Overseas applicants: One-way airfare to Korea (Economy class flight tickets will be purchased collectively by the training institution)
■Applicants residing in Korea: One-way reimbursement for KTX standard class or express bus fare
○Korean language education by proficiency level
○Vocational training (with interpretation support)
○Certification acquisition support
○Accommodation (dormitory housing) and meals during training
○Monthly living allowance: KRW 300,000
○Traveler’s insurance
○Korean history and culture education, Industrial field trips etc.
○Settlement and employment support activities(mentoring, workplace culture education, local community understanding, etc.)
●Participant Obligations
○Participants must remain in Korea for at least two years, including the training period, for job-seeking and employment activities.
○Participants must cooperate with post-program surveys regarding their residence status in Korea.
○Withdrawal from the program and temporary departure from Korea during the training period are not permitted in principle.
○Family members other than the participant are not permitted to reside together during the training period (including sharing dormitory accommodations).
●Disqualification: Participants may lose eligibility if:
○They repeatedly violate institutional rules
○They are sentenced to criminal punishment under Korean law
○They engage in political activities or seriously damage Korea’s reputation or national interests
○False information or forged documents are discovered
○They violate obligations stipulated in the submitted pledge and related documents (selected participants will be required to complete and submit the official pledge form at a later stage)
○Other serious reasons arise making continued participation inappropriate
●※ In cases of disqualification or violation of obligations, participants may be required to reimburse transportation expenses and support costs.
4. Announcement of Results
●Applicants may individually check results through www.korean.net
●Results will be announced after July 24, 2026 (Fri.)
○※ Final selected participants will receive detailed information regarding entry into Korea and training schedules via email.
