1. Visa Application 

  • Diplomatic Missions Abroad: Apply at the Republic of Korea's embassies or consulates.

  • Local Immigration Office: Apply at the local immigration office if staying in Korea.

2. Eligible Applicants

  • Eligibility: Overseas business owners or foreigners affiliated with international companies who can work remotely and have worked in the same industry for at least one year.

  • Family Members: Spouse and minor children.

  • Age: 18 years of age or older (except for dependent children).

3. Income Requirements 

  • Income Requirement: Must have an income of more than twice the GNI per capita as announced by the Bank of Korea.

  • GNI per capita (2022): KRW 42.48 million (3.54 million Korean won per month).

  • Twice the GNI per capita: KRW 84.96 million (7.08 million Korean won per month).

4. Medical Insurance

  • Must have individual medical insurance with coverage of at least KRW 100 million for medical treatment and repatriation to home country during stay.

  • Income Proof: Certificate of employment, salary, and bank transactions.

  • Other Documents: Criminal record certificate, medical insurance certificate, family relations certificate (if dependents are accompanying).

  • Note: Apostille/Consular Legalization required for official documents issued abroad (e.g., criminal record, family relation certificates).

6. Stay in Korea 

  • Period of Stay: 1 year, extendable for 1 more year (maximum 2 years).

  • Employment Activities: Restricted under this visa.

  • Change of Status: Those on short-term tourist visas (B-1, B-2, C-3) can apply for a change to the Digital Nomad (Workcation) visa if they meet the requirements.
