1. Student Visa (D-2, D-4)

If staying less than 90 days and not having Certificate of Admission, you can apply for C-3-1 Short-Term General Visa.

  • Certificate of Admission from the Korean university [표준입학허가서]

  • Issued by the dean/president of the university that was certified by Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Education

  • Certificate of Business Registration from the Korean university[사업자등록증]

Exchange Students(D-2-6):

  • Recommendation Letter from the Dean of the U.S. University

  • If it's difficult to get a letter from the dean, a letter from your professor is acceptable.

  • Transcript from the U.S. university

  • Invitation letter from the Korean university

Non-OECD Nationals:

  • Certificate of Highest Education: University enrollment certificate or graduation certificate

  • Proof of Financial Ability: Recent Bank statement with a balance of at least  $8,000 USD  If submitting parents' documents, proof of family relation needed

(General Trainee):

  • Language Trainee by National Institute for International Education

  • Invitation Letter (issued by National Institute for International Education)

  • Student in Elementary, Middle, or High School (D-4-3)

  • Admission Acceptance Letter

  • Proof of Financial Ability (Recent Bank Statement, If submitting parents' documents, proof of family relation needed)




2. Foreign Language Instructor (E-2)

Eligibility: For native English teachers or foreign language instructors.

3. Dependent Family (F-3)

Eligibility: For spouses or unmarried minor children (under age 19) accompanying a student visa holder or high-skilled worker.

③ Document proving financial ability (e.g., Bank Statement, Recent Tax Return)

  • If applying with principal applicant, financial documents are not required.




4. Marriage Migrant (F-6)

Eligibility: For spouses of Korean citizens or those raising a child born between a Korean citizen and a foreign national.

5. Foreign Government Official (A-2)

Eligibility: For civil/public servants employed by a foreign government or international organization on an official mission.

6. International Agreement (A-3)

Eligibility: For people or immediate family members under SOFA (A-3-3) or Fulbright (A-3-99) agreements.

7. Workation, Digital Nomad Visa

      (Apostille/Notary Required)

  • Must be employed by an overseas company and worked in the same industry for over a year.

③ Proof of Income

(Bank Statement, Tax Report, etc.)

  • Double the previous year's Korean Gross National Income - GNI

  • GNI for 2022: 42,480,000 KRW, GNI doubled: 84,960,000 KRW (7,080,000 KRW/month)

 Criminal Background Check 

  • Apostille Required

  • Minimum 100 million KRW coverage for medical treatment and transport
