[Important Notice]

  • 1.Visa Fee: Cash / Cashier's Check Only

  • 2.When applying by mail: All responsibility for delivery rests with the applicant.
    The Consulate will not take any action on behalf of the applicant, including filing a claim, in the event of loss, delay, or damage during shipment.

  • 3.We do not provide any expedited service based on individual travel plans.
    Applicants must submit all required documents 1-3 months in advance of travel dates.

Program

  • U.S. citizens are visa & K-ETA-exempt until 2026

  • For short-term visits for "tour, visiting family, participating in events, or business(excluding profit-making  activities)" of up to 90 days.

  • However, this visa exemption (including K-ETA exemption) does not guarantee entry to Korea; it may be denied for reasons such as criminal history or prior immigration offenses. For details, please contact the Korean Immigration Office. (+82-2-2100-1345)

Visa Application Submission

  • Walk-in Drop-off at the Reception Desk 

  • You don't need an appointment, but the receptionist cannot screen or confirm your documents.


  • In-Person Submission to a Visa Officer [Appointment Here] 

  • If no slots are available, please use the mail or drop-off options.

Processing Time

  • 2–4 weeks 

  • We do not provide expedited service. If your visa documents are incomplete or additional documents are required, it could be more delayed.

  • Check the status online 2 weeks after submission. (Click)


  • You will not receive any confirmation or notification after submission.

  • If your documents are incomplete, the status will not be available even after 2 weeks.

  • If the status still shows “No data found”, email a copy of your passport along with a screenshot of the status page. (Contact Email is listed below.)

Fill out every part of the application form sincerely and sign it.

  • ✪︎Please use the E-Formunless you are unable to do so due to technical or other unavoidable reasons.


  • E-Form (Recommended) www.visa.go.kr

  • All applicants can use e-form→ for the instructions, read "Attachment 1"

  • You must print the E-form application and Sign in the declaration box at number 12.



  • Application Form (Attachment 2) 

  • Fill out by typing or handwriting and Sign in the declaration box at number 12.

  • If the form is handwritten, it must be completed clearly in block lettersIllegible handwriting may result in a request for resubmission.

  • Application Form with Visa Issuance Number (Attachment 3) 

  • Only if you received "Visa Issuance Number" from the Korean Immigration Office.

Visa Photo

Must meet the regulartions

  • 3.5 × 4.5 cm taken within the last 6 months: Attach to the application using glue.

  • Full face without hat, front view against white background.



  • E-Form applicants do not need to attach a physical photo.

  • The photo you uploaded online will be printed on the application form.


  • Applicants without E-form

  • Make sure to attach the photo in the designated photo box on the form.

Passport

(Must be valid for 

at least 6 months)

  • In person: Original and Printed Color Copy

  • By mail: Notarized Color Copy

  • Notarization should be done within our jurisdiction.

  • Must be a color copy made directly from the original document at the same size using a copier. Scanned images, printed photos, or any copies that have been resized, edited, or converted in any way will not be accepted.

Non-U.S. Citizens

  • Valid long-term U.S. Status (e.g., U.S. Visa or Green Card)


  • In person: Original and Printed Color Copy

  • By mail: Notarized Color Copy

  • Notarization should be done within our jurisdiction.

  • Must be a color copy made directly from the original document at the same size using a copier. Scanned images, printed photos, or any copies that have been resized, edited, or converted in any way will not be accepted.

Proof of Residency

  • Copy of Driver’s License or State ID

  • Address within our jurisdiction (GA, AL, FL, TN, NC, SC, PR, U.S. Virgin Islands)

  • We do not accept applications from outside our jurisdiction.

  • Cashier's check must be bank-issued with the applicant's NAME PRINTED on it. (Pay to: Consulate General of Korea)

  • Personal Cehcks, Money-Orders are not acceptable.

For Korean-Americans

Case (1) If you never held Korean nationality, submit all:

  • Copy of applicant's U.S. Birth Certificate

  • Copy of U.S. immigration status of BOTH parents listed on the birth certificate (e.g., U.S. birth certificate, naturalization certificate, or green card)


Case (2) If you held Korean nationality, submit one of the following:

  • Korean Basic Certificate showing the renunciation/loss of nationality

  • 기본증명서 상세[국적상실/이탈 표시된 것] (→ Click here to obtain)

  • Confirmation letter of nationality renunciation/loss [국적상실/이탈 결과통지서]

  • Receipt of nationality loss report [국적상실 신고접수증]
