Quiz on Korea Chicago 2025

(Regional Preliminary)

The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Chicago is pleased to announce the 2025 Quiz on Korea Chicago. This is the first time the regional preliminary will be held in the Midwest, and we warmly invite Americans with a strong interest in Korea and Korean culture to participate.

1. Event Details

* Event Name: Quiz on Korea Chicago 2025

* Date & Time: Saturday, April 5, 2025, 3:00 PM – 4:00 PMVenue: Bisco Hall, Korean Cultural Center of Chicago 9600 Capital Dr, Wheeling, IL 60090

2. Application Information

* Application Period: March 24 – April 3, 2025 (by 23:00)

* Application Method:

Must complete the application form attached and send it to

chicago@mofa.go.kr

* Selection: First 50 applicants on a first-come, first-served basisNotification: Selected participants will be notified individually via email on April 4, 2025

3. Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

* Must be 18 years or older (as of April 1, 2025)

* Must not hold or have previously held Korean nationality, including immediate family members

* Must not have previously competed in the final round in Korea

* Must be available to travel to Korea for the final round (late August – early September 2025)

* Must be qualified to represent the United States in the final round

4. Competition Format

* The quiz will be conducted in a Quiz Competition

* Questions will cover Korean history, culture, and language

* Question types include multiple-choice, OX quizzes, and consonant-based word puzzles

5. Awards & Benefits

* 1st Place: Galaxy Watch + airfare and accommodation for the final round in Korea

* 2nd Place: Bluetooth speaker

* 3rd Place: Galaxy Buds
