(E-2-2) Teaching Assistant (EPIK or TaLK - English Teacher for the Public school or institute)

[ N O T E ]


Please note that not following the proper procedure to apply for a visa can automatically result in denial of a visa. Furthermore, any verbal abuse or unlawful behavior and actions are grounds for denial of visa issuance and may prevent future visa applications.







THIS VISA FOR
○ A person who meets the qualifications determined by the Minister of Justice of ROK and has signed an employment contract with the Minister of Education (or superintendent of a school district) to teach foreign language at an elementary, middle, or high school as an assistant teacher

○ Native English Teaching assitant(EPIK: English Program in Korea), Volunteer English teacher under a program called Teach and Learn in Korea (TaLK)


○ This visa will be issued with a single entry and when you get an ARC (Alien Registration Card) after you enter Korea, then can use it instead of the multiple entry visa.






VISA PROCESS

○ Some applicants may get the visa issuance number from Korea before applying for the visa. For this case, please prepare the same application with E-2-1. (Click)

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS (Appointment Required Click)

The required documents may vary by the consulates and embassies.
Please check it with your local consulate before you apply for the visa.

The head of Korean diplomatic missions abroad may request for additional documents depending on the condition of the country of residence/jurisdiction if it is deemed necessary for visa evaluation.


1. Application Form

2. 1 photo for Visa Application
   : Color, US passport photo size, taken within the last 6 months

   If the applicants fill out the form by visa portal web form (Click) and print it in color, don't need to prepare this item.


3. Original Passport and a copy

   : The Passport should be valid for more than 6 months

   : (Non-U.S. citizen) Orignal Valid U.S.Long-term Visa or U.S. Permanent Resident Card(Green card) and a copy 

   : (If applicants apply for the visa by mail) Please send the notarized passport and a visa copy instead of the originals.

4. Visa Fee (Cash / Credit Card / Money Order)


   : $45 for U.S. Citizens.


5. Notice of Appointment (합격통지서)

   * Original required


6. A contract with the Head of the Local School District Board (고용계약서)

   * Original required

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION


○ Korean ancestry applicants may be required additional nationality documents(기본증명서, 제적등본, 가족관계증명서) to verify dual citizenship. (Proof of loss of nationality, renunciation of nationality, etc.)
  : If the applicant has dual citizenship, is NOT eligible to apply for a visa.

   *The Applicant may issue Korean Passport instead.



○ If any information or documents submitted along with the visa application are verified as false statements or falsified, will cause a denial of visa issuance and may prevent future visa applications.




○ Sticker-type visas are no longer issued. The visa grant notice is the actual visa that must be brought for entry to Korea.
