Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Los Angeles

Consul General Youngwan Kim attended the 80th Anniversary Celebration of Korea’s Liberation Day, held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 15, at Saenuri Church in Southern California. The event was co-hosted by the Korean American Federation of Los Angeles (KAFLA), the Southwest Chapter of the Liberation Association, the Korean National Association Memorial Foundation, the LA Chapter of the Young Korean Academy, the Dosan Ahn Chang Ho Memorial Foundation USA, and the March 1st Women's Alliance USA.

During the ceremony, Consul General Kim delivered the congratulatory message on behalf of the President of the Republic of Korea.

Marking the 80th anniversary of Korea’s liberation, the event was attended by over 300 participants and featured a variety of celebratory performances. The participation of next-generation Korean Americans made the occasion especially meaningful, as it offered a valuable opportunity to reflect on the historical significance of Liberation Day.
