Title: [Important Notice] All Consular Services at the Korean Consulate General in Los Angeles will be provided per appointment basis and request cooperation with additional guidelines during necessary visits
The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Los Angeles is taking strong preventive measures as the following in compliance with the “social distancing” amidst the number of COVID-19 infected cases is surging in Southern California recently. Effective Monday, April 13, the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Los Angeles will open its Consular Services to the public only by appointment basis. Please refer to the below to make an appointment at the Korean Consulate General. *Within one week, the infected case number rose from approximately 4,000 to 10,000.
o When Consular Service per appointment begins : Effective Monday, April 13 (Making reservation is available from Wednesday, April 8)
o How to make an appointment : Via phone call to 213-385-9300 or email at appointment-la@mofa.go.kr
- When emailing, please include name, phone number, purpose, preferred date & hour to visit
o Who is eligible to make an appointment : Emergency cases of passport or visa issuance (Failure to prove urgency will result in denial of reservation)
2. The Korean Consulate General calls for understanding that this measure was inevitable to abide by the social distancing orders while continuing the operation of the Consular Services to the public. Despite the Korean Consulate General’s announcement that the public members should refrain from visiting the consulate if not regarding emergency cases, approximately 100 visitors daily on average are still yet making visitations to the consulate. Please understand this measure is taken to preserve the safety and health of all visitors and public members of the Korean American society.
3. In addition, to prevent the spread of COVID-19 during a visit at the Korean Consulate General, please follow the below guidelines :
o Please stay home if feeling sick and restrain from visiting the consulate (those with underlying disease(s), symptoms of cold, flu, coughing or high fever should stay home)
o Keep social distancing of 2m (6ft) between individuals during waits both indoor and outdoor
o Always wear a mask and frequently use the hand sanitizer placed at the consulate
o Bring individual pen or pencil of use
o Refrain from engaging in unnecessary conversation with one another
