On Wednesday 24th September, the Consulate-General of the Republic of Korea in Sydney hosted a reception at the Shangri-La Hotel to celebrate Korea's National Foundation Day, 개천절.
We were privileged to welcome the Hon. Anoulack Chanthivong MP, Minister for Industry and Trade, the Hon. Greg Piper MP, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, as well as distinguished representatives from the Parliament of NSW, local councils, and many friends of Korea.
In his remarks, Consul-General Yong Jun Choi pointed to the close and trusting relationship that Korea and NSW share, and expressed his hope for even more opportunities to deepen bilateral co-operation. Minister Chanthivong spoke to the strong economic ties between Korea and NSW, and noted the growing influence of Korean culture across Sydney.
Guests enjoyed delicious Korean canapes supported by CJ Foods Oceania and experienced K-Food and K-Beauty product showcases prepared by KOTRA Sydney. They were also introduced to LG Electronics’ latest home appliances and the Korea Tourism Organization’s K-Tourism showcase, and enjoyed a dynamic K-Pop performance by VIRTUE Dance Crew.
