The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Kenya is pleased to announce the release of the new guidelines for the 2026 Global Korea Scholarship for Undergraduate Degrees (GKS-U).
Interested applicants are strongly advised to carefully review the information provided below, as well as the attached documents.
1. Number of Quota for the Program: One (1) for GKS (General), One (1) for R-GKS
2. Schedule of Application and Selection Process
Application Period: From15th SEP (Mon) 11:00 AM to 30th SEP (Tue) 6:00 PM (Korean Time) -
Announcement of Selected Candidate for Interview: by 8th OCT (Wed)
Interview: 13th OCT (Mon) *Only shortlisted applicants will be notified.
Announcement of Successful Candidate: by 17th OCT (Fri)
3. Application Method
All applicants are required to create a membership account on the Study in Korea website and submit their applications online. ▶ www.studyinkorea.go.kr
4. Eligibility
- Nationality: Afghans (Neither of the parents should have the Korean nationality.)
- Age: Under 25years of age (Born after 2001.3.1)
- Grades: For Academic requirements, kindly refer to the guideline
- Applicants who are expected to graduate by December 31st, 2025 can also apply for the program with a certificate of expected graduation
