「INFORMATION ON THE APPLICATION OF VISA 」

​[IMPORTANT NOTICES]

1) TB screening for long term visa (more than 90days) applicants

​​[GENERAL INFORMATION]

※ Note : The applicants must apear in person, carrying their own 'ORIGINAL PASSPORT' when they submit the visa application in the Embassy. The applicant can check below mentioned Korea Visa Portal (https://visa.go.kr) minimum after 7 working days to confirm the visa issuance and to print out the Visa Grant Notice(Visa certificate).
  • Visa Application form : Visit https://visa.go.kr select application - eform(Visa) - fill out eform - apply - download(view application) - print and submit physically to Korean Embassy in Kenya along with below mentioned detailed documents to complete the visa application process.
  • Location
    • Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Kenya is located on the 1st & 2nd floor of Misha Tower on Westlands Road.
  • Jurisdiction
    • The Embassy is also accredited to Somalia. Other foreign nationals can obtain a visa from the Embassy if they have a valid Kenyan work permit.
  • Visa working hours
    • Visa Application : 09:30am to 11:30am Monday to Friday.
    • Visa Collection : 14:00pm to 16:00pm Monday to Friday.
  • Inquiries
  • Visa rejection
    • Please be informed that submission of fake or improper documents, late submission and lack of required documents will lead to visa rejection and no explanation will be given.
  • Expedite process​​
    • Please be informed that visa processing takes a minimum of seven (7) working days. Any application that does not adhere to this requirement will lead to rejection. All applicants are advised to apply early in advance in order to provide sufficient time for visa processing.
[Important Notice]
  • Warning: In case one submits fake document, he(or she) can not be issued visa for 1~3 years and banned to apply visa thorugh Korean Embassy in Kenya for 1~3 years.
  • Documents to be attached: Attached birth certificates or family certificates shall be notarized by the Ministry of Interior and athenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Visa requirements vary depending on the type of visa. The consul can or may ask for suppliment documents to support your application. Visa will take minimum 7 workng days.

Self Sponsored Trips
  • Invitation Letter(From Korea with a guarantee of stay)
  • A guarantee letter (From Korea stating that the inviter will take responsibility for any criminal activities committed by the invitee while in Korea and that the inviter will ensure the invitee goes back to his country after the expiry of the visa)
  • Introduction letter (From employer)
  • Return air ticket (booking)
  • 1 filled application form in black ink(e-visa form on www.visa.go.kr)
  • 1 passport size photo with white background (3.5cm x4.5cm)
  • Ksh.5,800 visa fee for less than 90 days (non refundable)
  • A valid passport not less than six months and a copy of bio data page of passport
  • A certified bank statement (The last(recent) three months)
  • Hotel reservation
  • Visa processing takes minimum of 7 (Seven) working days.
Tourism
  • Hotel reservation
  • Travel itinerary from a travel agent in Korea
  • Introduction letter (From employer)
  • Return air ticket (booking)
  • 1 filled application form in black ink
  • 1 passport size photo with white background (3.5cm x4.5cm)
  • Ksh.5,800 visa fee for less than 90 days (non refundable)
  • A valid passport not less than six months and a copy of bio data page of passport
  • A certified bank statement (The last(recent) three months)
  • Visa processing takes minimum of 7 (Seven) working days.
Diplomats, Civil servants & NGO’s
  • Invitation letter (From Korea with a guarantee of stay)
  • A guarantee letter (From Korea stating that the inviter will take responsibility for any criminal activities committed by the invitee while in Korea and that the inviter will ensure the invitee goes back to his country after the expiry of the visa)
  • Introduction letter (From employer)
  • Return air ticket (booking)
  • 1 filled application form in black ink
  • 1 passport size photo with white background (3.5cm x4.5cm)
  • Ksh.5,800 visa fee for less than 90 days (non refundable) * In case the applicants submit official invitaton letter from Korean government and when Korean governbment confirm to bear the cost for the visa, the visa fee may be waived.
  • A valid passport not less than six months and a copy of bio data page of passport
  • Visa processing takes minimum of 7(seven) working days.
Sports

  • Ksh.8,700 single entry or Ksh.13,050 multiple entry (non refundable)
  • A valid passport and a copy of bio data page of passport
  • Financial status
  • Academic certificate ( both original and photocopy )
  • Visa processing takes minimum of 7(seven) working days.
Medical case
  • Invitation from Korean hospital with guarantee of stay
  • Registration Certificate of the Hospital
  • Medical report from doctor proving that you need specialized treatment
  • Financial status proving capability to pay cost
  • Introduction letter from employer
  • Air ticket
  • 1 passport size photos
  • Visa fee Ksh.5,800 (non refundable)
  • Copy of bio data page of passport
