2026 Application Guidelines of Global Korea Schoarship for Graduate Degrees(GKS-G)

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Kenya is pleased to announce the release of the new guidelines for the 2026 Global Korea Scholarship for Graduate Degrees (GKS-G).


The GKS-G program aims to provide international students with an opportunity to pursue graduate studies at higher education institutions in the Republic of Korea, thereby promoting international educational exchange and mutual friendship between Korea and Kenya.


Under this program, seven (7) Kenyan applicants and two (2) Somalian applicants (among Embassy track) will be selected to undertake graduate studies at Korean universities with support from the Korean Government.


1. Application Method (Online only)

  • All applicants are required to create a membership account and submit an online application through the Study in Korea website:   ▶ https://www.studyinkorea.go.kr

  • After completing the online application, applicants must send the completed attached 2026 GKS-G  APPLICANTS INFORMATION FORM.xlsx  by email to: secretary-ke01@mofa.go.kr


2. Application and Selection Schedule (All dates and times are based on Korean Standard Time)

  • Application Period: From 12th February (Thu), 11:00 AM to 25th February (Wed), 6:00 PM

  • Announcement of Interview Candidates: By 10th Mar (Tue) ※ Only shortlisted applicants will be notified.

  • Interview Date: beteween 11th to 13th Mar (to be announced) 

  • Announcement of Final Successful Candidates: By 16th Mar (Mon)


3. Eligibility : Applicants must meet the following requirements

  • Nationality: Applicants must be Kenyan or Somali nationals, and neither parent must hold Korean nationality.

  • Age: Under 40years of age (Born after 1st September 1986)

  • Academic Requirements: Applicants must meet the academic requirements specified in the official guidelines.
