Visa Issuance Guide

Visa Fee 

  • Single Entry Visa (Less than 90 days) : 60,000 naira 

  • Single Entry Visa (More than 90 days) : 90,000 naira 

  • Double Entry Visa (two times entry within six months) : 105,000 naira

  • Multiple Entry Visa (multiple entry within one year) : 135,000 naira

Where to submit application

  • Korea Visa Center(VFS) : Sterling Bank Plaza, 3rd Floor, Plot No 1083, Mohammadu Buhari Way, Central Business District, Abuja, Nigeria (The embassy and the Korea Visa Center (VFS) do not request money or valuables for reasons such as express fees that help with visa application and processing, so be careful. In addition, be especially careful when brokers impersonating employees around the embassy or VFS ask for money or valuables.)

Processing period

  • Processing period usually takes around 10~15 business days (two~three weeks). However, the Embassy is currently dealing with an unusually high level of visa application. Thus, processing time could take up to a month.

  • Please be advised to submit your application sufficiently in advance.

Visa applicants with UNLAWFUL CONDUCTS

  • If forged documents are submitted or false statements are made in the process, the issuance of visa can be restricted for up to three years.

  • If you make verbal abuse, assault, intimidate or exert unjust pressure to our staff members, the issuance of visa can be restricted for up to three years.

Common Requirements for ALL Visa Application

  • Valid passport(passport must be valid for more than six months at the time of application submission)

  • A copy of the biographic data page of the applicant's passport

  • Completed visa application form (please fill out the entire form completely. failure of filling up may result in rejection)

  • One passport photo (size 2" x 2", color) must be attached on the form (next to the section 1.1 , please use glue stick or scotch tape only)

  • Documents proving financial ability

  • Personal bank statement

    (including at least recent six months transaction and issued within 14 days at the time of application submission and by the bank branch located in Abuja)

  • Credit card (Master card, Visa card, etc), car registration, etc

  • Confirmed flight booking and hotel reservation

  • Photocopy of National ID card or Drivers license or Voters card which is issued within recent five years

  • Additional requirements for specific visa types, please see the list below


※ When notarization of invitation letter and guarantee letter, notarization shall be carried out in one set of two documents


※ Notarized documents must be submitted by the applicant in the original


※ All documents (e.g., notarized documents) submitted by mail, etc. by the applicant without submitting them directly upon application cannot be recognized. 


※ Only the embassy form is recognized in the case of the guarantee letter (see the form posted on the passport and visa bulletin board)



Additional Requirements for specific visa types

A-1 Diplomats

  • Note verbale from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

  • Diplomat passport is required

    * exempted from ⑤, ⑥, ⑦ from the list of common requirements

A-2 Official Duty

  • Note verbale from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to certify his/her status (a clear statement declaring that he/she is on official duty must be included in the letter)

  • Official passport is required.

C-3-1 Short-Term Visit for general purpose

  • Attendance of various Events, seminar, Meetings, etc

[Documents related with a Korean who invite foreigner]

  • Invitation letter and guarantee letter

  • Documents introducing the Event or Meeting

  • Documents relevant to the establishment of the institution hosting the event or meeting (a copy of business registration, a copy of corporation certificate)

[Documents related with the invitee(a Nigerian, a Sierra Leonean, a Liberian etc)]

  • Certificate of incumbency, Original certificate of incorporation and its photocopy, Company bank account statement, Original Tax Clearance Certificate and its photocopy, etc)

  • Any past record related to the purpose of visit

C-3-3 Short-Term Visit for medical treatment

  • Medical treatment

  • Medical certificate (diagnosis) from Korean and foreign general hospital

  • Doctor’note from both Korean and foreign doctor

  • Documents of booking general hospital

  • Personal bank statement (including at least recent six months’transaction and issued within 14 days at the time of application submission and by the bank

  • Certificate of relationship in case of traveling with family member or care-giver for the sick

  • Receipt for the deposit of hospital cost

C-3-4 Short-Term Visit for business transaction

  • Import • Export • Marketing research • Business transaction

[Documents related with a Korean who invite foreigner]

  • Letter of invitation including details of transaction

  • Original and notarized guarantee letter

  • Photocopy of certificate of Korean business registration

[Documents related with the invitee (a Nigerian, a Sierra Leonean, a Liberian etc)]

  • Original certificate of incorporation and photocopy (CAC)

  • Original Tax clearance and photocopy (FIRS)

  • Certificate of incumbency

  • Company bank account statement

  • Any documents proving past business activity or transaction with the Korean company (Bill of Lading, letter of credit, import declaration, proof of remittance, etc)

C-3-9 Short-Term Visit for tour

  • Private tour (not group tour)

  • Itinerary or plan of tour

  • Personal bank statement (including at least recent six months’transaction and issued within 14 days at the time of application submission and by the bank branch located in Abuja)

  • Personal bank statement (including at least recent six months’transaction and issued within 14 days at the time of application submission and by the bank or copy of Credit Card (Master card, Visa card, etc), Car registration

  • Invitation Letter in case of being invited by someone

D-2 Study Abroad

  • Those seeking high level education (bachelor, master, doctor)

  • A copy of certificate of business registration from Korean school

  • Certificate of admission from Korean school

  • Letter from Korean school specifying the applicant's scholastic aptitude and finance capability

  • Submission a Certificate of TB Test (A Certificate of TB Test must be issued from the Embassy designated hospital.)

  • Certificate of the latest scholastic achievement (official & original degree and school transcript) needs to be notarized both from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Korean Embassy before visa application submissions.

  • Official letter issued and stamped by Dean

  • Official & original bank statements(If applicant submit parent’s bank statement he/she must provide affidavit attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs proving family relations)

D-4 General Training

  • Those studying Korean language

  • A copy of certificate of business registration from Korean school

  • Certificate of admission from Korean school

  • Documents proving payment for tuition, living cost etc

  • Certificate of the latest scholastic achievement (official & original degree and school transcript) notarized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

  • Official & original bank statements

  • Those training at institution, company etc except school

  • A copy of certificate of business registration from Korean institution, company, etc

  • Certificate of admission from Korean institution, company, etc

  • Documents proving payment for tuition, living cost etc

  • Letter of invitation from the institution, company, etc

  • Official & original bank statements

  • Military person invited by Korean government and is going to study at military academy such as national defence university etc

  • Certificate of admission from military academy

  • Letter of invitation from the Ministry of Defence

* exempted from ⑤, ⑥, ⑦ from the list of common requirements

Important notice for Visa Application from Liberians

  • Temporary suspension of Visa Exemption Agreement will take effect on July 18, 2019.

  • Therefore, all Liberians(except holders of diplomatic or official passport) who wish to travel to Korea must apply for visa, starting from July 18, 2019. Please take note of the above visa issuance guide to apply for visa.

  • Holders of Diplomatic or Official Passport can still visit Korea for a period of less than 90 days without a visa.

How to print out the 'Confirmation of Visa Issuance' document

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea (ROK) informs that the Embassy no longer issues visa labels for visa applications processed , as of 1st July, 2020.

The Embassy will notify applicants of their visa details by issuing ‘Confirmation of Visa Issuance’on the official web site at www.visa.go.kr where applicants can print out the document, at any time, by entering personal details such as passport number, date of birth and other relevant information. (A detailed guideline for obtaining the Confirmation of Visa Issuance will be posted on the web-site in due course.)
