Please note that not following the proper procedure to apply for a visa can automatically result in denial of a visa. Furthermore, any verbal abuse or unlawful behavior and actions are grounds for denial of visa issuance and may prevent future visa applications.





THIS VISA FOR

○ Citizens of a country that has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) or other agreement in regards to Working Holidays policy, and plans to engage in a short-term job to cover travel expenses in Korea.

○ ONLY U.S. Citizens (Currently enrolled in a university or within 1 year of graduation) residing in the U.S. can apply for this visa.

  * A person from another country needs to ask for this visa at the Korean Embassy/Consulate in his/her own country.

○ The dependent family of this visa holder cannot be accompanied. 

○ Please fully understand that this program is primarily intended as a travel vacation and employment is only intended to supplement expenses.

○ This visa will be issued with multiple entries and the duration of stay is 18 months.

2. 1 photo for Visa Application
   : Color, US passport photo size, taken within the last 6 months


3. Original Passport and a copy

   : The Passport should be valid for more than 6 months




4. Visa Fee (Cash / Credit Card / Money Order)


   : $45 for U.S. citizens


5. Bank Statement

   : 3 months, the minimum balance has to be $3,000




6. Round trip flight ticket (Or an additional $1,500 bank balance)


7. Certificate of Enrollment or Graduation in a University (or highly educated *)

   : A full-time student (Gap year Students are not eligible for this visa)

    * Should have completed at least 4 semesters of the Bachelor's Degree or completed at least 2 semesters of the Associate's Degree.

   : Recent graduates are also eligible to apply, within one year prior to the visa submitted date.

    * Master's degree and Ph.D. students are not eligible. (Please apply for D10 visa)

NOTE

○ Applicants for this visa may require additional documents such as the FBI criminal records or the doctor's note for the health conditions.
  * If the applicant has any criminal history with more than a $3,000 fine, a visa may be denied.
○ H-1 visa holders are not permitted to be employed as receptionists, dancers, singers, musicians, or acrobats at places of entertainment that might endanger good morals and manners, or as medical doctors, lawyers, professors, pilots, language instructors, or other professional services which require certain qualifications in accordance with domestic laws.
○ Those who desire to take a training or educational course in pursuit of an academic degree other than a Korean language training course will be required to apply for a student visa (D-2).



ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

○ Korean ancestry applicants may be required additional nationality documents (기본증명서, 제적등본, 가족관계증명서) to verify dual citizenship. (Proof of loss of nationality, renunciation of nationality, etc.)
  : If the applicant has dual citizenship, is NOT eligible to apply for a visa.

   * The Applicant may issue Korean Passport instead.



○ If any information or documents submitted along with the visa application are verified as false statements or falsified, will cause a denial of visa issuance and may prevent future visa applications.




○ Sticker-type visas are no longer issued. The visa grant notice is the actual visa that must be brought for entry to Korea.
